notifications automatically clear before I notification automatically before I can read them

Whenever I get notifications from Twitter or other apps, sometimes they have cleared before I can read them. Is there anyway to get the notifications to stay until I manually clear them, like it used to be? I'm using a galaxy s7 & android 7.0

I've got my always on display on & when I unlock the phone the notifications automatically clear

The always on display feature is different than going into your display settings and changing the time of your screen dimming after a notification.

Obviously if you don't look at your phone, just use the led indicator and you'll know there is something to see

There have been times when the led indicator is flashing & I have unlocked the phone & they have cleared before I can read them
