Jumped from iPhone to S10E a couple months ago and suddenly... notifications take a long time to land. Googled this and did just about everything everyone suggested and not only did it not work I noticed it didn't really work for anyone else either. Is there some kind of current consensus on how to fix this? I mean, the Galaxy is a cool phone, but Samsung is absolutely frothing nuts if they think people are gonna put up with not getting their notifications. Worse, trying to fix this has plunged me down a rabbithole of fresh hells what with all the battery optimizers and doze mode and adk and third party apps. Is this something a bunch of us are really grinning and bearing?

They work for me just fine. I don't think I have had any truly delayed notifications. Have you checked your list of sleeping apps?

Settings->device care->battery->:(the three dots)->settings->sleeping apps

Not seeing any delays

No shortage of users experiencing this problem.

I've tried just about everything suggested in these threads except going into debug mode. That just seems like pandora's box to me at this point.

I haven't read the links you provided, but maybe try if it wasn't suggested taking the apps you want out of battery optimized , and also make sure battery save not on medium.

Maybe it's app specific issues you're having? I get all my notifications without delay from Gmail, Outlook, Messages, Voicemail, OnQ, Control4, Leave By, Google Calendar, Yahoo Mail.

It really depends on what you mean by "delay"

couple seconds? few minutes? 30 minutes?

I recently did a test with my Galaxy s8 and iPhone SE right next to each other and sent a DM from my friends Instagram account to my account which was on both phones

they both got the notification at the same exact time

I also tried this with another few apps and I'm talkin milliseconds here but sometimes the Galaxy would get the notification first and sometimes the iPhone would get the notification first but if you blinked you would miss it

never had a problem getting notifications to my Samsung phone

I've also been seeing a few posts about notifications not coming through on wi-fi, and then flooding in when wi-fi is turned off and the phone is using mobile data. Is that the case here?

A few minutes to 30 minutes or more. Only happens when the screen is locked.
