Notifications for Individual Contacts

I want to know if it's possible, in Sense UI 6 on the HTC One M8, to assign separate SMS notification tones to individual contacts WITHOUT the use of a 3rd-party app. The new TouchWiz allows it on the Samsung Galaxy S5 in the native Messages app, but from what I've seen while playing with the new HTC One M8 in the AT&T stores, it still can't be done in that phone's native messaging app. Can someone tell me definitively?

I think you can only set the ringtone for contacts. Not sure how setting it there impacts sms notifications.
