Notifications have stopped on OnePlus 7t

I am no longer receiving notifications (status bar or sound) for all apps, including SMS, except gmail and WhatsApp. This happened spontaneously. One day it was working. The next it was not. I updated to Android 10 hoping that would fix it. It did not. I've eliminated battery optimization, made sure the apps are set to receive notifications, high priority. Do Not Disturb is NOT on. Rebooted. I have followed all instructions I can find and still no success. I don't know what is wrong. I've submitted a "feedback" to OnePlus, along with many others who have all had the same problem. None of the questions have been answered. I am desperate. I'm missing important texts in a timely manner. I'm ready to do a factory reset but others, who have tried this, did not have success. I don't want to do this unless I know it will work.

Try resetting app preference in settings>apps>see all apps >tap 3 dots upper right corner reset app preference

I guess we have to wait and see if OnePlus can push an update. The same thing happened to me but only after updating to Android 10. Or maybe shortly there after. It is a small but but annoying none the less. However Skype notifications work flawlessly for some reason. Texts and sometimes calls do not ring though but mostly it's my text messages.

Did you make sure that the actual "tone" or song you have chosen for the notifications is working and available? Try choosing a different tone for each and experiment. What are you using for SMS? If you are using the native app from OnePlus I highly recommend you trash that useless piece of code. I use Textra and it has it's own built in notification settings, much like Gmail. Give it a try and see how well it works. As for any other notifications you mention I have no idea because you did not say what those apps are.

Also, make sure that you select 'Important' under settings - apps - select app - notifications - groups/messages. For example, this is with WhatsApp chats.

Ok I'll try that then and pass it along if that fixes it. I have a co-worker who has a OnePlus 7 Pro and said the same thing happened to him.

No issues on my 1+7pro
