You should definitely wipe the cache partition, no doubt about it.

Had some erratic battery issues today, and some heat in the phone. Think it might have been due to phone looking for WiFi signal. Hoping that's the case anyway. Going to be keeping an eye on it. Was doing the same thing this past week prior to the Nougat update. I know others have said that it takes a bit for the phone to get used to the new OS, so will be patient before panic sets in. Don't mind doing the cache wipe, but really would rather not do a factory reset.
