My wife just got her pixel 2 XL today. I was showing her some of the things and when I hit the portrait mode when using the front facing camera, it automatically switches to the rear camera and there is now "switch" button until I disable portrait mode. I have a pixel 2 XL in the beta 8.1 and I do have this option, as well as when the phone was on the original software that it shipped with. Was this feature removed in the November update?

It's working on mine, but I opted out of the beta.

Are you on the November update?

Open the Play Store and update the app

Selfie portrait working fine for me, I have the November update on board.

It takes a day (24 hrs) for the update to appear in the app store. The apo update will say camera or Google camera. One of the two. And you will receive like 8-9 more updates at the same time. Not just one for the camera.

Ok thanks. Just be patient then I guess?

That worked!!! Thanks! Dumb question, I'm assuming the camera app will still auto update from here on out? Doesn't need to keep being manual?

That's correct. It will updates from the Play Store normally like all the other apps.

If you look up in the thread, his didn't.. Sounds like it was easier for you. Easy is good!

I know his didn't. I have a habit if reading up for the most part. My apps are set to auto update at the moment.
