Supposedly, through the Shop Samsung app, you are able to "reserve" your Note 9 (no payment necessary now).

I tried. I get through the form until it's time to press the "reserve" button and it won't press.

Thanks. I restarted my phone, went back in, and it said that I had reserved it. Hmmmm, this will probably get cancelled because I'm sure I would rather pick a color. Oh well, I guess we will see how this plays out in the near future. (still haven't gotten an email confirmation though)

I reserved an unlocked note 9. Im trading un the s8 plus in my drawer and it gives me 400 buck! I did it anyway since I didn't have to put a credit card in.

How lenient is Samsung on giving full value for trade? There's a lot of s8+s out there with small chips in the screen in the $200-$250 range. I might pick one up if it's relatively safe to get a full $400 in trade.

I thought you were waiting to see the price first?
You didn't fool me. I knew you were getting one months ago. You just didn't want to admit it.

People never learn, they keep going thru Samsung for their phone.

On trades, if your phone has anything wrong with it, I wouldn't try trading it in.
We'll hear the crying when the carriers are all shipping and nothing is being sent out on Samsung order updates.
Sometimes it's more convenient to trade in a phone as opposed to dealing with people online.

Lol. I was surprised as hell when Verizon shipped out the note8 as early as they did last year.

I'm 95 percent sure I'm getting it but if it is outrages then I will go for the S9 Plus. If there is a 512gb and 8gb Note 9 I probably won't get it because it would probably be around $1200. I'll opt for the standard version. However, based on the "reserve" option it didn't give an option for an 8gb one so I'm thinking that won't be avaliable in North America or Europe. Maybe later after release they will release an 8gb one.

That page mentioned/cited no options whatsoever. It was merely termed a "Samsung device".

It gives you a choice to reserve an unlocked one or a carrier one so they want to know what one you want. If they had a 8gb option they likely would have listed it. Not a big deal because I doubt I'd get the 8gb version because of cost. The 512gb I don't care about. There is no way I'd use even close to that amount of memory to justify the extra money. All I care about is that 8gb of ram. I wish they had a 64 or 128GB 8 GM ram version for cheaper than the 512gb.

I don't know how difficult or practical it would for Samsung to offer multiple configurations, 'BF'. I'd like to see people get the version of the Note9 that they need. If Samsung does set a precedent and sell a top-spec Note9, 8GB/512GB, in The United States I'd be interested in that item for the utility it would offer me in editing 4K video right in the Note's native memory while in-the-field. Just as interesting to me would be the micro SD card slot that'd permit having some larger files with me at all times; the list of files that I feel that I need to have with me at all times has grown over the last several years. I typically shy away from The Cloud for security reasons except when at home under my own WiFi's umbrella. It won't be long until we know all there is to know about what Samsung will offer in the Note9. The waiting seems anticlimactic now.

Maybe offer a limited release. Once those initial ones sell out, they can produce more. If Apple can backorder, why not Samsung?

That is what I'd suggest were I in the position to do so. Also I'd lobby to make the top-spec Note9 available to any Note enthusiast who would want to purchase one.

It looks like there are deals going now for the Note 8 in the $600 range, and plenty of reviews to determine if it suits your needs and budget.

Me being a Note junkie, will have to go with the latest fix...
