Now Cards with Nexus launcher

I just received Nougat on my 6P via OTA. I selected the Nexus Launcher as my home app. I cannot seem to find how to get to the Now Cards. I thought they were supposed to be available when swiping all the way to the left on the home screen. It will not swipe further left like Google Now Launcher did.

Am I missing something? Are Google Now Cards no longer available with the Nexus Launcher?

Did you install the Nexus Launcher through an apk sideload or did you install it via ADB?

At one point I had it installed via an apk. I was pretty sure I had uninstalled it though before the Nougat update came through. Could something be left behind causing in not to work correctly?

For Google Now to work the app has to be installed via ADB (and thus with a custom recovery) as a system app. To get to Google now if you click on the G and then when the search interface opens, hit the G again that will get you to the same interface as before.

Thanks. I must still have the side load still installed. I thought that nexus launcher was released with Nougat. On further investigation, it appears that it is not out until the next release.
