Now My Note8 Screen Turns Off During Calls???

I didn't realize how annoying this was until it started after the last update. I was prompted to update last week and after I noticed during phone calls my screen dims and then after 30 seconds it turns off and locks. So when I went to hang up, I couldn't. Instead, I was locked out of my phone, had to unlock it and then hang up. This is really frustrating. Especially when I went to press a number on the keypad. Have to unlock, then enter it.

What the heck happened? I've tried looking to see how to change this in settings, display, etc. and haven't found anything yet. Anyone else have an idea?

My wife has the same phone but she hasn't done the update yet and hers works like my once did. I told her not to update it as this is really annoying.

I understand this may be a battery savings feature but give us customers the option to choose to turn it off. Isn't that what Android is about...letting us customize our phones and features how we like it and not forced on us?

So this is a bug? Not a new feature? I really hope you're right b/c it will get fixed if that's the case but I have a feeling it's a feature to save battery life. Maybe that's why the screen background is black instead of white? To save more battery? Just guessing here but I hope you are right.

Thanks too for the tip to restart. I did try this and the problem is still there. I even did a "battery pull" simulated restart (Press and hold power button and volume down key at the same time, it takes a screenshot but keep holding it for 3-5 seconds and it will restart. I was told this simulates pulling the battery. Problem is still there.

I haven't found anything significant about Oreo. Any chance I can get back Nougat?

Also, just found out if you do this simulated battery pull restart thingy...it deletes everything on the clipboard...even items you locked. Mine are all gone now and I had several things I paste b/c I use it a lot. I hate updates. I have to remember if all works good...just skip the update. Annoying....

Well I found a few bugs. If I had time I would just load it fresh and see if that fixes it. Been trying to figure out which firmware for unlocked USA from bestbuy to download, but Samsung can't just label it right.
