see thats why a manufacture and/or a developer takes their time with a product and not to rush it out to the public cause everyone is whinning "why dont i have it yet. so far what i have seen is issues with ICS. i know not all but some are. some are having great success with it and some are not, i visit a lot of different forums and in the beginning all it was is crying " i want it now i am mad," well here it it and its having "some" issues.
i understand not every xoom is the EXACT same and there will be issues. just had to put in my .02.
we need to learn patience on products, if they maybe had a few more weeks of testing there might not be so many issues.

just saying, had to get that off my chest. now were is my ICS???

Could you please detail each of the "issues" you have seen with ICS? I have not yet taken the plunge, so I need to read all I can on this first. That would be helpful. Thanks!!

The upgrade from Honeycomb to ICS is very minor. It does make the device run seemingly smoother, and the cosmetics are a little different, but overall, it's almost the same.

Most people (Not everyone), are saying the speed improvements are significant. I read a tech article that said they were getting 6 times faster load speeds on the browser over honeycomb. THAT IS SIGNIFICANT! They were advertising that they were able to load a website that took 20 seconds on honeycomb, took 3 seconds on ICS. Scrolling is soooooo much smoother also. I for one, would gladly take these improvements along with the issues that are also being reported. When it comes to how smooth things operate, Apple had us beat. PERIOD! Until now. I have an Ipad and the xoom. I love the functionality of the xoom, but I've always like the smoothness of the Ipad. I have a 4g xoom so I don't get to enjoy the new smooth operation of 4.0 yet, but I sure can't wait. With 4.0 we have the smoothness of an Ipad, but the functionality of a droid. Best of both worlds.

i love my xoom, i carry it everywhere with. my point on this is that the ones who cry that they dont have it will be the ones one who cry it dont work right. i cant wait to get the ICS, but i have to have patience cause of the obvious theory that the wifi will get it first then the LTE. well if it takes that much longer to launch the LTE ICS then so be it, cause i want it right. could it be that it is not quite ready for release cause of some issue? could be. but patience will have. its not here on this forum, this is one of my favs. i see it on many forums the whining and crying. i know thats part of life. but i just had to say something or i will blow. i wish everyone the best of luck on theirs, i hope it runs flawlessly for everyone.
we all just need to have patience. the xoom is a "toy" that we bought. give the programer/designer/manufacture so time to work out the bugs.

Not true for everyone. I bought mine for work and work only. All my company PDF manuals are on my xoom and thats what I use it for. I don't want to carry around 15 pounds of manuals.

Just an FYI.

I'll also say "not true" to this. If I wanted a "toy" I would have gotten an iPad. It would have "just worked", because it's not very flexible. With flexibility, comes complication. With complication, comes a greater chance of having issues.

My XOOM is a workhorse for business. I create/share/present spreadsheets, documents and Powerpoint presentations. I manage my business contacts, chronicle visits and interactions, manage business e-mail and text communications, take on-line company training, participate in presentation based conference calls, etc, etc, etc... I could go on, but you get the picture.

Everything I do is immediately accessible from my desktop, my notebook, my phone, and I choose what is immediately available to my peers.

When I'm on a flight, I have the choice of being productive, reading a book, or being entertained. Same goes for when I'm in a hotel room. I usually start my evenings off being productive and end up plugging my XOOM into the flat screen TV in the room with an HDMI cable to watch a HD movie.

I object to the term "toy". Although I may use it from time to time for entertainment, it is first and foremost a business tool. This thing helps me make money. Helps me feed my family. Helps me thrive and be in a position to help build a future for my offspring and a retirement for myself.

I've said it before. If someone just wants to play games and watch movies (and probably still lives with their folks), they should get an iPad. They will be happier. If someone needs a serious business tool to help them manage a serious life, they should get a 4G connected Android based tablet.

It really is as simple as that.

Being a toy is not my point. Hence the quotes around it. Its stating its generally a toy. Meaning to not all. As I am starting to use it more in place of my laptop. Do I NEED this? No, but it helps. My point is about all the crying some did because they felt they deserved a product now. Things need testing first to make sure its right. I agree maybe 5 out of 100 has issues since the update. Maybe more or less. But its the ones who cry I want it now are the ones who dry cause its not working right.

That wasn't very clear. It looked more like you were saying these things are just toys and therefore dismissing the need for quick updates.

I actually agree with your comments about the people whining and would rather a quality update over a quick update.

Usage of my notebook computer is down over 80% and holding. I don't see the remaining 15% to 20% going away until Android (or Google) offers some quality alternatives to compete with a PC based MS Office. I can create the raw ideas and documents, but still need to go to a PC for the refinement I'd like for these files.
