Yet, Number Sync is showing as draining 2% of my battery. I did send a few texts from the watch while on a run without my phone. Could that be it?

The integration is quite crud. I turn off my cell radio when I don't need it (which is 99% of the time). So there is no chance for NumberSync to drain the battery.
