numbers on messaging & email apps

A quick question. Numbers appear on the stock messaging and email apps, but not when i use Textra messaging, and Google gmail apps. Just wondering if i missed a setting, maybe. Thanks for any help.

I would try resetting both those apps since rest are ok by long press icon then tap info and scroll to storage clear cache and file stop , if it doesn't work then clear data,cache, then force stop.
