O.k. I got to ask

How long before they change the frequency and the 5g phone we buy will no longer work.
A billion dollars company doing nothing

3G networks first rolled out around 2002, and they are just now being shut down. Any phone you buy today, even if not 5G compatible will be obsolete before 4G is turned off. 5G's end date isn't even part of the equation right now.

And if you have such animosity against Verizon, I suggest finding another carrier more in line with your ideals.

Where I live.
You don't have the choices.

You have to try and make sure the phone will work.
I had considered t mobile, cause I understand they have a larger 5g network.
But after reading posts.
Their 5 g is slow.
There's no t mobile stores around here either.

My wife said she wants to stay with Verizon.

I've been saying I'll believe it when I see it the whole time. They are deploying 5G in downtown areas in the cities and calling it nationwide. Until it works like 4G, it isn't Nationwide, and that will take time as they will need to add to the infrastructure as the 5G signal is weaker.

Anyone know if this is true.. I've had people tell me that with 5G, they are going to bounce the signal off everyone's phone's to help compensate for the weaker signal. That sounds like a hacker dream come true to me.

mmWave will never be deployed out of cities. It is only meant for dense Urban areas. All of the truly nationwide 5G will use mid and low range spectrum like what Tmobile has already deployed.

As to your second part, no that's not true in the slightest.

Verizon said they were to put round transmitters on top of telephone poles, and towers.
And they was going to use these transmitters to bounce the signals.

Problem is. How long are they gonna wait till they start putting them up.
And the frequency they start with, and the phones we buy.

That's for big cities only. Rural and suburban areas will not be using the mmWave frequency for 5G.
