O2 will sell HTC's next smartphone without a charger

HTC and O2 will sell a new "flagship" smartphone without a charger in the near future. A Micro USB to USB cable will still be included with the handset, but the mains charger will be removed. O2 says it's making the change to avoid adding to the population of 100 million chargers that go unused by consumers in the UK.

yeah its a good idea, we have loads of micro usb chargers kickin around. wonder if itl be reflected in the price though.
also aparently samsungs only charge at full speed with a certain pin configuration so its not gona be an option with all phones...
..in fact o2 should make it an option and give $/?20 free credit or calltime to people who choose not to have a charger...

global s3, UK. Ask me anything and ill reply even if its just an intelligent (or stupid) guess ;)

I have been using my same old Blackberry USB chargers/cords. I still have my old Samsung Epic 4G charger in the original plastic! Totally never needed it..

the old bb chargers are great with the long thin cord :)
