May I suggest doing a partition cache clear. It's a good way to shake off the bugs after a major security or software update.

Very good recommendation. I do this after every update and at times when I'm running the phone hard over a long duration.

Would you explain how to do this. I know how to clear the cache on individual apps, but not this. Thanks in advance.

Here you are.
How to Wipe Cache Partition of Samsung Galaxy Note 9
There are times when your phone has some firmware issues that you don’t really need to reset it. Wiping off contents of the cache partition may be enough to bring it to its usual operation. Wiping the cache partition will delete the system cache, which may have been corrupted for some reason. These files may be small and temporary but they may cause a lot of trouble to your phone if they get corrupted or become obsolete. That’s why it’s advisable to wipe cache partition of your phone from time to time. And you don’t need to make a backup of your important files and data as they won’t be touched. Here’s how you do it:

Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
Press Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.
Your device may take a little while rebooting after doing this since it will rebuild deleted cache. Just wait for it to become active and then continue your observation to know if the problem still persists or got fixed.
