Official Build Date and Quality Thread

Epic August, battery Aug. 12th.

Phone is mostly okay. GPS appears to work, pending more tests. Capacitive buttons kind of suck, and they work better if I hit them a little off center. I often have to hit them twice. Battery life utterly sucks when 4G radio is on, even when I have 6 bars of reception. I've had the phone go from charged to dead in 6 hours while idle with 4G on. Battery life without 4G is more than a day. Also, 4G disconnects or otherwise doesn't work even with 5-6 bars of reception, at random. I suspect Sprint is the culprit here, rather than the phone, but who knows.

The replacement I got is also a 8/10 and seems to be working fine. Only thing I noticed was there is some space between the keyboard and screen when closed. When you look at it from the side you could see through to the other side. When you tap hard on the lower part of the screen you can feel it go down a little. The space may only be 1mm thick. Is this normal?
If there was no space you would be rubbing on the keyboard when you opened it.

I'm going to disagree with this statement. If you look at the profile of the keyboard, you will not see the keys. This is because they are recessed. There really shouldn't be any play between the two halves--other than the expected sliding motion. Anyone that has played with other samsung sliders know how solid and smooth they should be.

08/10 for both battery and phone.

It's been performing marvelously for the most part. All buttons are perfect.
I ran down the battery the first day in about 4.5 hours by: turning brightness all the way up, keeping GPS/Wifi on constantly, removing all power-saving features.

Then, after it fully died, I'm setting auto-brightness, DISABLING power-saving LCD mode or whatever it is, and turning off GPS (more on this in a bit). It's my third day, and I'm getting 10-15 hours easy. Less obviously as I use it more. Btw, don't be afraid to use a live wallpaper. I'm using particle storm, and it looks amazing, while using 3% of my battery life. If I can't spare 3%, then screw it I would have gotten an iPhone.

I unfortunately have the three major bugs of the phone.

1) 3G Upload speed seems capped to 150 kb/s
2) GPS doesn't work at all in non-use wireless networks mode
3) Time without signal quickly gets up there without me toggling airplane/flight mode off-and-on...

Thankfully, all three are software bugs, not hardware. Besides that, perfection :)
