Ok, my brother and I both have Droid X's. I am all into rooting and all that stuff, he isn't. He just keeps it stock, no root or anything. So, he pulled the official update and now his X is "frozen". I haven't looked at it yet. (he's bringing it by later after work)

Is there a way to fix a "frozen" phone that is stock, without having to SBF it then redownload the update?

(i guess SBFing and re-updating would be just as easy as anything else)

you could go into the stock recovery and wipe cache/ data and give it a reboot. worth a shot before having to break out the Laptop. But your right , SBF is a very simple procedure and should be up and running in 5-10 min .

Just updated my wife's DX and it was freezing up after rebooting. Wiping cache fixed it...
