Official Minimum Requirements?

Now that Android 2.3 is official... has there been any official word with the minimum hardware requirement to run Android 2.3?

Some say that 2.2 to 2.3 is not that huge of a jump so is there something that will stop 2.3 from running on a < 1Ghz android phone?

I doubt their is a minimum requirement. I bet its more if the carrier and or oem want to update your phone. I am willing to be phones that have froyo will get gingerbread but I could be wrong. Their is no reason any of the high end Android phones don't get this

There was a "leaked minimum requirement" of 1Ghz a while back. Google denied it. Since we still have not heard about it again, I say that that is fake.

Being a G2 user I was so sick of seeing the 1Ghz rumor.

HOWEVER, Phonedog just posted this, and while it's most likely a tech guy having no idea what he's talking about, i thought it was worth it to share with you guys. LG: Optimus devices not getting Gingerbread because it requires 1GHz chip

I think Google just needs come out and say "No minimum requirements, just need a manufacturer who gives a damn" and end this.

Good news, but with the relative frequency with which I upgrade phones chances are good Ill have upgraded to one that either has it or supports it for sure.
