Official release of JB 4.1 source and/or OTA dates?

September? That's nuts. We'll see it in July. Otherwise, there's no reason to buy a Nexus from a carrier anymore.

It's CDMA vs GSM. CDMA updates always take longer because of propritary radio stuff. 2 months is still a lot better than 8 month of a non-Nexus device.

from one of the responses at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/android-building/XBYeD-bhk1o

"As far as toroplus, the situation is unchanged: there are no plans to
support it as a target device for custom AOSP builds.

JBQ "

toroplus = Sprint's GNex

Bloody hell!

Nnooooooooooo!!!!!!!! #sadpanda

Thanks everyone! After hearing about Google not supporting the Sprint CDMA variant of the GNex as an AOSP compatible device, I am never buying a phone or device from a CDMA carrier again. GSM from here on out! I hear the Sprint variant isn't being supported due to Samsung/Sprint not being willing to release the driver binaries for it. Freak!

I would like to point out that I've been a unlocked GSM Nexus user since the first Nexus dropped. I got the Nexus S the day it dropped and had it until 1 week ago when I bought the CDMA/LTE Sprint version. Now, up until about 2 months ago I was running T-Mo on contract but due to family members dropping off I had to switch to a pre-paid T-Mo. DO NOT DO THIS. Pre-paid T-Mo is the WORST service I've ever had. It made my Nexus S a constant embarrassment.

Now, Sprint may have a bit of a wait due to their proprietary software and such, but we will get JB soon. Just wait it out. It wont be months on end, its a Nexus device and it's nothing like VzW version. It's pure google and it will get the update before Verizon or around the same time.

But I'm warning all of you that are thinking of switching now, don't go pre-paid with the Nexus through T-Mobile. Their plans are garbage and NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU THEIR DATA IS TERRIBLE ON PREPAID.
