i researched the zagg invisibleshield extensively. most of my friends have it installed at the mall booths for like $45 ugh. Or can be bought for like $25 online. their's turned yellow and definitely did not feel good for a touch screen (they have blackberry so it's okay for them). quite a bit of orange peel too.
i was going to buy phantom skins, but i read they are very thin and don't self heal. after experiencing the SGuards, i dont think i could pay more than $10 for protectors anymore.
i'm not really going to write a review, but here are my thoughts:
The stealthguards (took about 3 business days to arrive) and i installed them. it's essentially front and back protection; no sides (that would be difficult to install anyway). the pics are after 24 hours of install. i think they need a week to cure especially in this weather.
my phone originally came with some cheap static cling, ebay, crap that got dust and air under it etc. This is my first wet install and to tell you the truth i think it is the way to go when it comes to films. Home/automotive Window tint is wet install also for a reason. I didn't do a perfect job maybe 90% of perfect IMO, but it's far better than what i had before. it was a lot easier than i thought and if did it again, i would be very comfortable doing so.
First off i paid $2.85 shipped for this stuff. it came in an envelope with invoice. No frills, no instructions, just the protector sheets. I did my research before hand i didnt really need any instruction on how to install this. I used a drop of baby shampoo and distilled water in a bowl. I used a credit card to squegee the water out (if i had one of those nice silicon ones that the pro's use i could probably do a better job). i dipped my fingers into the solution, then the entire protector sheet into the bowl and then applied it to the phone.
the site looks like a scam like some other reviews mention, i got mine in 3 days. i am buying more for spares and xmas gifts.
there is a Tiny amount of orange peel, but barely noticeable it might go away when it cures. The feel is great for a touch screen (this was a major concern for me when researching protective films). I think the thickness is just right when it comes to protection and feel.
the camera, flash, and speaker cutouts need to be removed first, not a big deal. they came out fairly easily with the help of a razor blade. i applied some of the leftover protector to my worktable and stabbed it a few times with the blade. This stuff is pretty tough. The blade didnt go through it that easily. I'm pretty convinced it's up to the task that it was designed for.
It does attract fingerprints a little bit. Im not sure how other films deal with this since i have limited experience with other brands. It doesn't bother me that much though. the fit is better than i thought. I was expecting something really bad for the price.
i jacked up the volume corner a little bit when i was removing the case o well.
