You heard it right folks, tiered data is now LIVE on the VZW site and I went ahead and did a test order to upgrade from a 3G device to a 4G device and while the new tiered plans are there so is Unlimited Data and it is selected by default since it is what was on the other line.

As a side note, the rumored hotspot add-on for those of us on Unlimited seems to be a rumor as it lists the data plans with hotspot and without just as Mortiel told us, and it is not listed on the order page as a separate item NOR is it listed on the features page for my Thunderbolt.

So take a little bit of good and a little but of bad. No hotspot for me I guess :(

What about MBBC? "More functionality. Same value"???

So less functionality, less value.

OK let me clarify NEITHER of them are listed as plan add-ons for the Thunderbolt :( And I just checked and they are not listed for 3G devices (D2G) either. Hopefully this is just a glitch of some kind as Mortiel said in another thread that there is a memo talking about the add-on. As I have understood it both features were being bundled together not as separate things since they are more or less the same thing.

Looks to me like they aren't finished putting the options online. If I go to features for my iPhone it gives all the options for changing plans, but if I go to the TB, there are no options at all.

I also turned on my mobile hotspot to see if it would prompt me to add the feature. It did not.

But ...
...Here are the facts:

If you have the $29.99 unlimited data package, then the self-provisioned hotspot will be $30 per month. This is not related to the tiered data prices, and can be removed. This is for 4G devices only. ...
Let us know when you get it figured out.

OK, the feature page just updated for the TB. It shows all the data options EXCEPT for an unlimited hotspot option. Hope it's added later...I will be pizzed if I have to give up unlimited data to get the hotpot!

I get a pop-up window asking me if I want to subscribe, call for consumer and business. I have not received any self-provisioned anything of the sort. I'm starting to get a bad feeling here. Let us know what's going on, please.

Patiently, (but anxiously) waiting.

Here's the way it was explained to me on a chat:

MBBC is now $20 per month for 2 GB. This can be 'pro-rated' if you add the feature and then cancel it, but if you go over 2 GB, you will be charged $20 per GB after that. So whereas previously, you could get 5 GB MBBC for $25, it will now cost you $80 for 5 GB MBBC. Doesn't quite sound like the same value to me!

Unplug it, take the battery out, wait about 30 sec and put it back in. Then plug it back into the charger and see what it does. Also might want to get rid of ATK as some people have reported it doing wonky things to the phone. The Android OS is fairly good at managing memory. I've had mine for 4 months and haven't installed any sort of task manager and it's run perfectly on the stock and custom over-clocked roms. If it's still acting up tomorrow after a good nights charge definitely take it back to verizon especially since you're still within your 30 days.

Sheesh, I hate that someone started that unlimited hotspot rumor. Wow. I guess no hotspot for me then.

$30 for unlimited hotspot is totally worth it. Hell, with up to 5 users, you can probably make a profit undercutting airport wifi while waiting for your plane.

What do I say to get the $30.00 mobile hotspot when i call customer care.
Say that you would like to add the $30/month unlimited MHS plan to your $30/month unlimited data plan. DO NOT LET THEM SWITCH YOU TO A TIERED DATA PLAN. If they are unaware of this option, ask them to ask their supervisor. If they still don't believe that such an option exists, direct them to the two threads here where a number of people have reported being able to do this today.

Thanks, Robrecht

You think I should wait until my hotbot stops working

Yes no point in paying for it until you have to. lol. My in store contact texted me about it earlier today so they DO know about it.
