Offline Map and directions

I am going to start traveling more, I love using my Google maps but can't afford the data. I am looking for a app that will give me driving directions to my destination, but not use my data.

Just to be clear, @Tim1954 is referring to HERE WeGo.

Google Maps does let you download the maps for offline use.
It also lets you put the map on your SD card.
However, the multiple geographic areas you are allowed to download are rectangular sections of the map.
