That's really disappointing. I haven't owned an Android phone with capacitive buttons since the Droid Incredible. Not sure I want to go back.

It's going to be ok! Yeah, I'm not a fan either, but it is what it's going to be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

During Beta testing, there was significant enough feedback from their test groups that this last minute change was done.

They're just painted on too - they don't light up.

I'm glad to have capacitive buttons, but a bit disappointed they don't light up. It makes it seem a little 'cheap' to me, although I understand it was likely due to time and production restraints.

Well that sucks it doesn't light up.
Should of had the beta testing sooner so that would give them time to make the necessary changes

That would have been Alpha testing.. :)

Wow there's just no pleasing some people. They start with soft keys, people complain there's no capacitive keys. So they delay the phone to add them. Now we got some people complaining that the capacitive keys don't light up, and other people complaining that the capacitive keys are even there in the first place. :)

After having used on screen buttons over my last 5 or so phones and tablets, I'm actually looking forward to having capacitive buttons again. (I think the last device I had that had them was my HTC One V)

My issues with on screen are that even though I think they look nicer in a lot of cases, I sometimes have issues convincing apps like Youtube or Twitch to bring them up reliably after they get hidden, which can get annoying.

Where be my pitchfork?

There must be two versions of this phone, or maybe this was a pre production unit?. In this Youtube video, it clearly has on screen buttons.

I have no issue with capacitive buttons, I use the GS7E, but these look horribly designed. Not only is the strip too narrow, but as others have pointed out, they dont light up. Using this in a dark room is going to be a PIA.

That was pre-production, before they decided (based on user feedback mind you) to switch to capacitive buttons.

Is there way to change the operating system of mifavor and use Android instead?
It seems mifavor doesn't seem as smooth as stock Android
