So after pre ordering not just one but 3 Pixel XL's on October 14th 1 silver and 2 black we still have not received them. This is with both the website and customer service on the phone confirming that the phones would be delivered by October 20th. Received an email the evening of October 19th from Verizon stating that what we ordered was so popular and the ship date is now 11/18/16. Called customer service back and they checked with their core team and said the email was a mistake and my phones are on the list to be sent out. No shipping notice sent by the afternoon of the 20th so call back and they tell me that yes the order is back ordered and I won't be getting phones until the 18th of November. Never have had this happen before any time I've ordered a device and I've purchased plenty of phones before. I don't understand why when we pre ordered the date wasn't pushed out further at that point. Is it because they assumed more inventory of said device before they actually got stock? I know with the iPhone at least they update the dates constantly even from opening night as stock depletes and sometimes ship sooner than expected but I've never been told one date then for that to change after the fact. Very disgusted honestly right now I was curious if any others had this experience as well.
 
Exact same scenario, just one 128 gb black pixel xl for me though.
Ordered on October 14th, spoke with rep, they "confirmed" mine was to be shipped on the 20th. Received an email that my delivery date was pushed back to November 18. Spoke with rep, they said my order was still scheduled to be shipped on October 20 (yesterday). Alas, today is October 21,no shipment yet .I'm feeling like my shipment really was delayed, and evidently so.
Disappointed really. What's the point of pre-order if this happens, useless.
 
Now you have me wondering if my preorder that said ships by 11/11 will now not ship til the 18th
 
They had them in the store yesterday when I went to get a case. Man, that is a mess!!

There's no issue getting the 32GB versions. I think Google delayed shipments of 128GB versions, which then caused VZW to delay delivery. I would bet Google didn't project the 128gb would be so astronomically more in demand.
 
Yes mine was a 128gb on both the silver and black ones we ordered. My best assumption is they were told they were getting "X" amount of units and preordered for that but they did not receive said amount. I've never had a pre order go like that before and it seems I'm not the only one.
 
Same here... I preorder the silver XL 128GB for my wife and the black XL 128 for me through Verizon on 10/12... Got an email from Verizon on 10/19 saying my shipment is now delayed till 11/18.

Yeah I'm not happy either... The main reason I ordered through Verizon is because they said they'd be able to ship it sooner. But don't want to cancel now and go through the store because I don't want to loose getting the Daydream View headset.
 
Mine showed up on Oct.20th. If I didn't check the UPS tracking I'd never had known it was in. Verizon told me it wouldn't be in until the 28th.When I told him UPS said it was signed for at the Verizon store on the 20th he finally went and got it for me.
 
That is odd I was able to order mine online (pixel 128 black) on Thursday the 20th with overnight shipping and got it by 1030 Friday morning

However when I was debating to pull the trigger on 10/19 wed expedited shipping was not an available option
