ok Google not working

Anyone having issues with google now. I have it set and i say the words "ok google" Google now does not open up and listen for my command

It doesn't work when you open the Google Now app?

it does. But i want to have it set to the hot word on so when i just am on the home screen and say ok google it auto opens

That only works if you're using the Google Now Launcher.

Yep, the hot word detection only works when you're on the Google Now screen.

I mean like it works on Moto X or Nexus 5? I mean even if the screen is off? Or does it work only when in Google Now Launcher...

What i have understood from the various forums is that the OK Google feature does NOT work on HTC One M8.

OK Google does work when Google Now is already open. But to have it work even when it's closed you need the Google Now Launcher.

Am using the m8 in the uk, ok hot word does not work for me at all. Tryed us and uk langwidge settings any idea what the problem could be seen as you got yours to work?

The Google now hotwork detection on home screen is strictly a nexus/Google phone/Google Play Edition feature. Or you can download the Google Launcher.

Nova Launcher has an "ok google" option in settings. When enabled, the "ok google" hotword will launch a google voice search when the phone is unlocked and on any home screen.

I am also in the UK and have the Google Now page set to open with a swipe up from the Home button on any screen and once it is open OK Google works perfectly for me. My M8 is an unbranded HTC_001 cid version running fully stock Rom and i haven't rooted it or unlocked the bootloader.

You could also dl Open Mic, custom phrase options as well, works well... My hot phrase is "computer" right now but I may find a different less common word...

Go to Google Now then settings look in search and now cards the voice option the go to "ok Google" detection open and there you have the options to change settings and use from any screen and/or only from google now, even you can program to be used from screen lock. Good luck!:-*
