Just recently found out it was on by default. Turned it off and now I'm getting 2x battery life again! Why did Google enable it by default? Annoying. Make sure yours is turned off.

One of the first things I do with a new phone is open the applications manager in settings and disable every app I do not plan to use. I also disable auto sync, notifications, location, etc. even with all that recently my battery went from lasting all day to needing a charge by late afternoon. There was a post on this forum recommending installing Greenify which once you set up your phone it will automatically hibernate open apps. Now after charging my phone in the am I still have over 40% by the time I get up the next morning.

I did all that. "OK Google" standby is kinda hidden in Google's setting. I currently use Greenify and ForceDoze, two excellent apps. Just don't use auto hibernation, only manual. I get a full days battery, sometimes not needing to swap. Average 5-6 hours screen on time. LG is killing it with battery optimization, beats iPhones by a long shot.
