I'm pretty well set on replacing my 6P with a pixel 2 XL, but I do have one question that I hope someone can answer.
Does the 2XL do proper screen mirroring to a smart TV, or do you still need Chromecast, like the 6P?
Other than the battery life, it's the one thing that really annoys me about the 6P.

I highly doubt that the 2 XL has it. FWIW - the LG V20 has it. I replaced my 6p with the V20 and it's a good upgrade so far.

Moto Z Play or Moto Z2 Play may have "Cast Screen" as my brother's Moto X Pure has it. The Moto Z line also has mods that are pretty cool, and the Play versions have excellent battery life along with a near stock Android experience.

It's a Google phone, highly unlikely it will use anything other than chromecast. If it does, then I hope it's better than my 6P... It's the only gripe I have, the 6P struggled to connect to the chromecast dongle at any time
