old, but wants to feel young again

Had a G2
Cracked the screen
Got a new phone (2014)
Wife just recently broke her phone
Had my screen repaired
Tried to factory reset
Now it's stuck in bootloader
Don't have the memory card anymore
Can I still use it?
I was thinking
Buy a new SD card
Load up twrp
Then try it
Would that work?
