Old htc one mini screen is locked

I have an old htc one mini. It's no longer in use tho all my photos are still on it. I couldn't remember my pass pattern and attempted it so many times it was locked and I need my gmail and password to unlock it. Unfortunately I can't remember the password for the account. I changed the password but as the phone isn't in use and connected to the internet it didn't work. I've since remembered my pass pattern but I'm unable to get back to that as an option. Is it possible to do this? I've turned the phone off and on and it still only gives the option of gmail.

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the M7 forum to the HTC One Mini forum. What lockscreen do you see now? Does it only ask you for the pattern now? What happens if you keep failing the pattern unlock again?
