On a Moto G I cannot receive or send picture messages, what could have happened?

On a moto G I cannot receive or send picture messages

3 days ago, I could get and receive picture messages. Now, I can only send and receive plain text! What happened? I have a Moto G 4.4.4 with Verizon for my carrier. Verizon says that all my settings are correct!

Welcome to Android Central! Do you get an error message when trying to send or receive MMS? Are you certain your mobile data is on when trying to do this?
