On my Galaxy S4, why won't I have sound through my headphones until I restart my phone?

What am i doing: Connecting headphone to hear music, or attend call
Whats the issue: Cannot hear sound thr headphone, music, or caller voice still hearing through the speaker

Observations::

When I connect headphone after phone restart, i am able to hear the music / caller voice thr headphone
But then if i disconnect headphone once, then play song, or call someone, without headphone, then if i connect headphone again, then, not able to head voice, music thr headphone

then if i restart cell again, then headphone working again

tried multiple headphones, issue persists

tried diff music apps, issue persists.

Tried safe mode: No Issue. whenever i connect headphone, its working.

So folks, any clue what could be the issue?

Welcome to Android Central! Sounds like a problem with the headphone jack. I suppose it's possible there might be a firmware issue--you could try flashing the stock ROM via Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html

Tks. I have clearly mentioned that, Headphone is working perfectly after phone restart and also in safe mode. So could it be a problem with jack?.

No, you're right--I'm not sure what I was thinking at first. If it works in Safe Mode, then the only thing I can suggest is to start uninstalling apps until the problem goes away. Focus on apps that generate sounds (like media apps).

The issue got resolved post uninstalling 'silence' app. If it doesnt resolve, try to make some changes on 'SoundAbout' app. thanks a lot for ur inputs

There is a thread on this group about no audio when returning from using Bluetooth. It seemed to be caused by a certain app. See the thread
"No Sound on Phone Calls after using Bluetooth" Might help you solve your problem. Let us know how it works out for you!
