Hey y'all, I am on the fence about this tablet. I am a computer science graduate student, and all around geek but I dont have a tablet yet. I have read all the reviews and been to best buy to play with it a few times, but I want to hear from people who use this tablet in the real world, not in a review environment. How do you like it? How are the apps like twitter and email? I know flipboard will be out soon. Does it run smoothly all day? Just looking for some real world reviews. Im not going to replace my laptop, but use it more for news, social media, email, comics etc. Thanks.

I have this tablet and I like it.

All the apps I have loaded in it run with no issues. I put in a few games as well, and they run smooth. If you look at one of my post, I was able to stream Netflix for 9 solid hours non-stop before the battery died.

I use my tablet for surfing, email, games, e-reader, and movies. I'm also a Network Engineer by trade so I guess you can call me a techie.

I do like my TF300, but considering returning it and waiting for the TF700 to come out. Don't ask why...I'm not sure myself.

I will also give you a heads up on something. It appears that the TF300's are plagued by a high pitch sound during video playback from video you have recorded from your tablet.

The sound is good on the tablet, the speaker is loud and clear.

The tablet is fast and so far it has not chocked with any apps. The wireless works pretty good on it. My house is three floors with my access point being on the 1st floor I can go to the 3rd floor and still have a strong signal. The GPS works well too.

The screen is pretty bright. I'm not sure why, but some people complain that if you put it in direct sunlight you can't use the tablet. I have put the tablet under direct sunlight and I can see the screen with no issues, just turn up the brightness on it and you're good to go.

I also have a 32GB MicroSD card in it as well. I have movies and music loaded on that card and I can listen and watch movies without any issues.

I think you will be satisfied with the TF300.

If you have anymore questions let me know and I will try to answer them.

Thanks for the response. Asus ain't going to drop the price soon when the 700 comes out are they? I would hate to finally buy it and the price go down next month.

Been a great tablet. Smoothest I have ever used by far. If you go to some of the really involved websites the stock browser slows a bit, but google chrome works much better. No real complaints from me. If you want to do any gaming, this is the tablet for you. O and Asus is by far the beast company for updates. The firmware gets updated all the time, and I am sure we will get jelly bean pretty quickly

I just got this tablet 4 days ago. I pretty happy with it, and I feel I got the best value. Even after the Nexus 7 got announced.

I attach a screen shot of the battery use.

I was torn about getting this tablet or waiting for the TF700 Infinity. I ultimately decided that the higher resolution screen just wasn't worth the wait. I have not regretted this decision at all. I have owned a handful of tablets and this is far and away my favorite. I don't own the keyboard dock because I never used the one I had for the original Transformer.

I am a software developer, including some android development on the side, and I use my tablet for reading all the programming books I have on kindle.
