On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

Re: more than 73.6% of people are upset that Samsung removed the SD card slot... will this affect sa

I think Samsung said that most people did not even use a SD card. Removing it will only affect a small vocal minority. Internal storage is much more reliable and faster. Especially since 64 and 128 GB should be available.

That's the point. If the S6 doesn't meet your needs then get something that does, but when you come on here acting like Sammy personally stuck it to you it seems weird to me. Get a G3 then or whatever meets your needs. The day I get so upset at an object is the day I commit to a head exam.

Amen, this entitlement culture is getting annoying. Someone call a whahambulance; whiners coming out of the woodwork.

Many people complain about not having a removable battery in their next Galaxy.

I would really like to have one, however, if not having one means better battery and better and nicer design, than I'm okay.

The real deal breaker for me would probably be not having an SD card.

What do you think?
I'm with you. Just give me more.mAh

I'm with you. The SD card is a necessity since these things never have enough onboard memory (unless of course you never download media). I can always plug my phone in during the day but I can't "find" more memory.
I agree. Must have sd card capability or I switcb brands....err I suppose 256 gb built in would satisfy me LOL

Re: more than 73.6% of people are upset that Samsung removed the SD card slot... will this affect sa

Yes, and I'm sure the 128 gb option will be cheaper to add than merely buying an sd card on sale right? No. I also like being able to transfer files directly to and from sd card by taking it out and putting it in ultrabook sd card slot. Using a cable to transfer files is a pita. Google wants to force all of us onto their cloud options.

You got feel for these folks. How dare Samsung make design choices to garner lost market share from earlier design choices in prior models and also make a profit. More efficient and powerful chipsets. QHD display. Slimmed down TouchWiz. Auto HD/OIS and improved low light functionality to the camera. Rapid charging and dual wireless charging formats. NFC/MST mobile payment. Premium build materials. Better sounding external speaker. Man, Samsung should have been consulted the expandable storage crowd before making any design choices for a shrinking market share with no skin in the game. If the GS6 variants lack of expandable storage is a deal breaker, get a device that does.

Re: Let's Take A Clear And Objective Look At This

ib, I made note of the flash drive you showed me, but since I've never used one like that is there some software that needs to be installed to affect the transfer of photos/documents/whatever?
Samsung devices default to opening My Files app when using an otg (on the go) cable described above. It's the stock file manipulating app on them.

Funny, a friend of mine is mountainbikemike lol!!

Re: Let's Take A Clear And Objective Look At This

Use one of the thousand existing threads for that stuff...this is also far from objective look at it it's as subjective as it gets and always fruit-fans like (which is not a compliment).

This forum is the worst for multiple threads on the same subject. Many forums when you type the subject, a pop up comes up to show you similar thread titles.
Go into the S5 forum and see how many post LP upgrade problem threads there are, lol
Best to just scroll on by. The only way to change it is heavy moderation.

Lots of interesting discussion here. There does seem to be a sense of entitlement and that's odd to me. The bottom line is that things change. If Samsung is more disappointed with S6 sales then S5 sales they may change things back. If you don't want an S6 buy somwthing else. I just don't understand why its more complicated than that.

Again, Samsung still sells the S5 and in some areas the S4 and S3. Those phones have removables. It is what it is.

if LG is playing their cards right, the G 4 has the potential to takeover for something, Samsung basically handed them marketshare with this move.

Not quite, the LG is a big phone...not for everybody. Some like me appreciate the shrinking of size in the S6, way more important to me than a card or battery.

Exactly, things change. If people are unhappy with Samsung's decision, it makes sense for them to speak up in order to encourage additional changes to this year's lineup of phones. Staying quiet doesn't help anyone.

Re: more than 73.6% of people are upset that Samsung removed the SD card slot... will this affect sa

That's 73% of people who decided to vote in the poll. Does not reflect real world customers.
Will it affect sales? Potentially. But then the other improvements to the phone such as new premium build and camera and all that may help increase sales, so who knows. I do wonder if this is enough to turn more sales back to Samsung. I feel that a lot of Samsung's sales were from customers who wanted a larger screen on their phone, but now what the iPhone has that larger screen, I see more high end consumers moving to the iPhone and ditching Samsung.

On the low/mid end, there are Chinese manufacturers who are making decent devices at cheaper prices.

Hard to make the call how the S6 will sell. I want it and all high end android phones to be successful, but I think it's hard to crack the iPhone juggernaut.

I wonder if Samsung checks these forums though. ...or cares what goes on in them if they do. I think its a No to both but I may be mistaken.

Oh I know, but I wonder if this is part of their research. I feel like dissenters are such a small minority that its like 10 out of 1000 that are not happy with the new design. Are they really concerned with those 10 or are they satisfied pleasing the 990?

On the contrary, I use SD cards for entertainment purposes. I fill them with music, videos and pictures.

Wouldn't business users find SD cards a security risk if they had sensitive data on them?

Good point about backing up music, vids, pictures, etc. Also goes along with having spare batterie(s) and not being tied to an electrical outlet or large battery pack, not a terrible option, but defiantly a distant second place.

In today's world being hacked online .ie. in the cloud is almost a given, your data is there for the taking and selling to cloud partners, etc. It is far less likely to loose your SD card or have it stolen. Staying local, is staying safer these days.
