I did the one-click root on stock 2.2.1 in order to use the voodoo sound module. Once the gingerbread update is released from sprint, will the one-click unroot be all i need to do to get the update or will i need to go back to factory 2.2.1?

We are not exactly sure at this moment how the official release will play out. Your best move at release time will be to Odin back to EC05 and grab the official update. We have heard from good sources that Samsung/Sprint have patched the exploits used to obtain root in Gingerbread and the methods we currently use (ADB/OneClickRoot) will no longer work. We have also heard Odin will be used to flash a prerooted kernel to obtain root of Gingerbread but nothing will be confirmed until official release happens and the devs have a chance to try things out.

As soon as we have any information you will find it here posted on how to grab the update and root Gingerbread when its available.
