One-handed dialing

I've heard several reviewers complain that you can't dial the Note one-handed. Since the dial pad is a software interface, can't that problem be resolved with a software change? Is there already an app for that? I haven't been able to find one.

There are settings for this (shrink dialpad&move it to the left or right side of screen)
