1 handed operation on my samsung galaxy s 5 does not work. Could it be because I replaced TOUCHWIZ with GOOGLE NOW? Help

Yeah - it's the launcher you are using. Whenever you change a launcher you will loose some of the touchwiz features.

But one handed operation is not among that feature.

Try go to settings-display & wallpaper-One handed operation-Reduce screen size.
Enable the feature from there.

Thanks. I don't have those options. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizons network. Any other suggestions?

Strange. The S5 has this feature.
I am not sure though about the Verizon variant but there should be an option there.
Have you ever used the feature before switching the launcher?

My Mum has the s5, I sat with her and tried to replicate the OP's question and I couldn't get the one handed operations either - we have the international version.

Never tried it before I went to Google now. I also can't get a screenshot using the two options that Samsung provides. It must be the Google now.

By default, the One Handed Operation is not enabled.

And sorry for the wrong instruction. To enable it, go to Settings and then straight to One-Handed Operation.

To trigger it, you have to slide your thumb from any side (left or right) to the middle and then back to the same side you began of the screen. PS: You should be quick.

Admittedly the palm swipe to sceenshot is hard to use. I clicked home key and lock key at the same time to do a screenshot.

I'm not sure how both of you can't get it work. This feature works on any launcher I've used.

Thanks. I was so frustrated I took the smart phone to the Verizon store and ask the clerk to show me how to do a screen swipe . It works perfectly. I must have tried it 100 times before and it never worked. I tried it in the store, and it worked. Problem solved. Thanks
