Folks,

Ok I'm NOT going to say the reason I bought the OP5 was because of it, BUT I really REALLY like the alert slider. It's even more useful then that button iPhone's have, since the slider has 3 settings, and it's customizable.

Anyone else a big fan of the One Plus Alert slider?

Yes, alert slider is a big plus for me as well. Something all android phone should have IMO.

Couldn't agree more @pkcable 😃 I think the alert slider needs to be on more devices going forward. It's so convenient. We do have 'flip to mute' functionality but it's feels nicer to flip a switch between 2 or 3 'profiles' for notifications.

I got mine and now with a slide, I can switch to DND or go Silent easily if I have to. I also like how I can customize those alert slider options for silent, DND and ring.

I would like it better if it did silent (vibrate) and normal. I prefer to let the Android OS built-in DND do its job based on a time I set. I am too forgetful to remember to switch it to DND at bed time and back to normal when I get up.

ALERT SLIDER - this right here is what is intriguing me. What is it like - you use it lots, yes?

Basically it's a hardware button that has 3 settings, fully on, priority mode, and fully off, and then you can set the settings. It's similar the the software settings within android, BUT its just so handy to have a switch RIGHT on the phone, and not have to fumble with the screen to quickly turn off sounds when you are at meetings, or in other places requiring quiet, church, dinner table, etc

... Oh my goodness gracious, I NEED that feature.
