So i purchased the one plus 5. just received it and have a question i need help with to get my mind off it. I have seem some people say they are unsure of how long the phone itself will last. Does anyone think i will have to worry about a borked phone in like 8 months? Or is one plus quality control actually really good? Thanks guys

The phone has been out for 1.5 weeks. Pretty sure its too soon for anyone to actually know its true final quality. Their older phones seem to last well and that's all we have to go on.

Also, come on, wait more than 30 minutes before posting a follow-up requesting input...

Sell it and get something else. You're not worthy of such a phone.
Come on! What kind of question is that??? ! :O

I hate to be a jerk and point this out, and I know it's very easy to get caught up in the excitement of buying something shiny and new, BUT this is a question that one should ask PRIOR to purchasing.

That said, as far as I can tell, OnePlus has a decent reputation in terms of build quality.

This may be an odd question but does the OP5 lay flat on a desk or does it rock, it looks a little rounded on the back in pictures?

seems to lie pretty well without rocking. I do have the Karbon bumper case on it, but the back is pretty flat overall.

FWIW: I still have the original OP One, it's my son's daily driver with LineageOS installed. It's still going strong. With LineageOS the battery life is on par with much newer phones.

My OP 2 is still going strong enough that I'm seriously having issues justifying jumping on the OP 5 band wagon. As much as I want to.

The point is: That was their first attempts. They're still going strong. They've learned a lot over time. I'm fairly confident that OP 5 will last a good long time.

This made me nervous right before I ordered my OnePlus 5, I couldn't pull the trigger buying a phone with no way to service it easily. I chose to go with the LG G6 instead since it was nearly the same price and had a 2 year warranty. I am a little worried now that I made the wrong choice, but I am still very happy with it.

As much as I like the G6, I dislike the LG skin. OP5 Oxygen OS is so much better!
