One ringtone for all non-contact calls (i.e. folks not in my contacts)

Have a Pixel 2, Google Fi carrier & running Android 9....

Alternatively, tried the inverse... grouping all of my contacts and assigning one ringtone. But, couldn't figure out how to add a ringtone for the group.

Just in case... not asking about how to change individual contact ringtones. =)

That's about the only way y9ou're going to do it. Assign a ringtone for those not in your contacts, then an individual ringtone to each contact, even if it's the same one for all.

This is the process I finally settled on. Works pretty well. It ends up with the default ringtone being the "unknown caller" tone.
