Just updated to Android 10 One UI 2.0. Samsung filtered out Google Assistant from the list of available apps to select for the Bixby button remap.

That's sneaky $h1t stuff right there. I'm kinda pissed at the moment.

Is ASSISTANT (Not Google) still in your app drawer? I don't have it in mine, and don't recall ever having it as a standalone app. The Google app, however, should still be available both on the drawer and on the side key shortcuts.

Yes, Assistant app is still available as a separate app from the Google app. They both are in my current app drawer and works differently. Similarly, prior to the upgrade to One UI 2.0, the Bixby button remap list of available apps to assign included all apps from the app drawer but now is excluding the Assistant app.

Which variant you have the US or international?

I have the tmobile version and running stock launcher. I've been on Android since Samsung Epic, switched to LG G3 & G4, but back with Samsung S6, S7, and now S10. I've rooted (not the current S10) and installed many 3rd party systems and apps. Just don't have time to keep up so have just used stock.

I say that so you know I'm not an Android newbie. Still, major updates and OEM customization on top along with their forced functions and apps is frustrating.

That said, I'm going to try the Quick Command method to try to open Google Assistant app and see. I'll let you know.

Thanks.
