I currently have a sg3. I love the phone but I am really interested in the one. First I'm wondering about signal quality on the one. It should be better than the Samsung. Right? Secondly, how is it getting along without a memory card. Any comparison between the phones would be useful. Thanks in advance.

I don't have the one, but I use gs4. Having the memory card expansion has its advantages and if you don't bother about the lack of external storage, I guess its one beautiful phone. Its also getting updated pretty fast. Also the 4.2 update which adds lock screen widgets doesn't let you have multiple widgets with advanced security on.

The signal strength is very impressive. Best I've ever had, and I'm getting 4G in places my buddy's GS3 doesn't. As for the storage - I suppose it depends on how you use your phone. If you listen to a lot of music, but don't want to stream it from Play Music, or some such service, you may want the option of external storage; not that the available storage on the phone isn't ample, but if you're looking to install a ton of really big apps (fancy 3D games being the most likely hogs) and a lot of lossless albums, I can conceive of things getting tight. Apart from that scenario, I can't think of any reason you'd need more than the One already has. Some might say that a lot if HD video and pics will suck it up, but I'm of the opinion that any such media that's worth keeping should be backed up anyway. And with USB OTG capability, it's easy to drop your files straight onto a flash drive.

Signal quality with my HTC one has been excellent.. its also extremely quick to link to 4g when turning on mobile data. Storage is plenty for me but I don't do any big time gaming.. UI is easy to figure out and smooth.. and the biggest plus is the front speakers.. great for music or watching utube/ news etc.. I don't regret picking this phone over the s4..

Signal strength, (all) on my One is the best I've experienced yet. In fact, I'll say, after the display resolution, it's the most enjoyable aspect of the device...

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated. What about indoors? I know coverage isn't guaranteed in any structure. Seems like the Sammy radios have a little more trouble than most indoors?

Well, I'm sitting at my desk, inside an interior room of a concrete and steel building. My signal strength on my One is currently -83dBm on LTE. My Galaxy Nexus in the exact same place would register just over -100dBm.

I live in a phone dead zone. On my previous phone I couldnt hold a call. My friends S3's couldnt even get a signal. They were lucky if they could text. Now I can get and keep calls 85% of the time which is great compared to all other phones that have visited me. This phone is really great. My son is a gamer so he got the S4 but for me there is plenty of storage if you can handle not having 18,000 songs at your fingertips.
