Just received the OnePlus 13R. Few quick observation.
- Build quality is great. Love the astral trail color.
- It's fast. Coming from a Z Fold 6, it feels faster.
- Display looks great.
- Flat is best.
- Oxygen 15 sure is different than One UI. Maybe I'm missing something, but it is annoying I can't add multiple apps to a folder, like you can do with Samsung. Having to drag and drop one app at a time is a pain.
- Camera seems fine. Comparing it to the Samsung and Pixel 9, not seeing too much of a difference. At least in normal well lit condition.
- Doesn't work well with Nova Launcher. I guess it's a known issue. Wish they would fix this, but not a deal breaker.
- Fingerprint scanner is low, but I don't have the biggest hand, so it's not too much of an issue for me.
- I live in PNW, so some water protection is a must. I think IP65 is fine. I'm guessing if you drop it in the water and get it out quickly, that should be ok.
- The alert slider is great.
- Price was great.

I missed out on the early freebie offers, but still got the $100 off and a free case. Can't complain. Was looking at a refurb S24 plus, but the 13R was still cheaper. And I was getting bored with the Samsung design. Wanted something different and the 13R looks great. Not sure why this should be considered a mid-ranger. I would describe it as a base flagship. Anyone looking for a reasonably priced base flagship phone, I think 13R is a great option.
