Is it worth it to upgrade to the Oneplus 8 Pro from the Oneplus 8 for a decent enough price?

Welcome to Android Central! I'd say that's a subjective choice that may yield different responses from different people. I've seen users happy with the 8 over the Pro, and vice versa. The 8 Pro has higher camera specs, yes? If you are an acid camera enthusiast, that may be a reason to upgrade.

Because I could get the 8 Pro for 460 dollars with my trade in. That's pretty much half the price I'm sure of what the 9 Pro will be going for when it's released. I'm sure it will be at least 900 dollars.

The 9 is 720 and the Pro is 960 I think. Or at least, that price gap between the two was what the reviewers stated.

At T-Mobile, my carrier, the Pro will be more. I think either 1049 or 1069 dollars. Way too much. It was a bust trying to get the 8 Pro from Oneplus.com as they charge interest on financing devices... That's a deal breaker for me.

I wouldn't mind getting the OP 9, but being limited to 128 GB of storage with no expandable memory kind of sucks. That is, if that's all that's available on my carrier when released. If T-Mobile slashes the price on the 8T, which comes with 12 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage is much better than the OP 9 standard.

Still waiting to see if they will or not though. I am assuming they will probably discontinue the Oneplus 8 and keep the 8T with a price reduction.

I would like to get something better personally and just sell my OP 8 for cash.

Yeah, it's a toss-up whether or not OP will keep the 8. They kind of like ditching their "current" phone in favour of the new one. I found that out the hard way when I wanted to get the 5T and waited a bit too long to pull the trigger.

You're right about the price of the 9 Pro. Very expensive. Is the 9 IP 68-rated at T-Mobile? The reviewer stated this but I'd like to know if it's factual. I'm checking Canada's OP page to see what's up.

Yes they are both IP rated. For some reason, all the recent high end OP devices on Tmobile are IP rated. They must make that a condition. Like the 8T is IP rated, but unlocked is not.

I kind of wanted to get the Oneplus 7T Pro McClaren, but it wasn't IP rated and Tmobile discontinued it recently

That is good to know - thank you so much! Perhaps I misunderstood the reviewer. I just started doing my research. Thanks again!
