Hey guys, I'm really really hopeful that someone can help me with this issue I'm having with my OnePlus 6 which is roughly a year or so old. There is a major issue with my display and it's really really bugging me. I've tried Reddit and the OnePlus community forums but I've not really gotten much help :/

So the issue I'm having is my display is completely messed up. As you can see with the attachment, my screen is divided up into segments of white. The top quarter of the screen is normal, then the bottom has a tinge to it Which is making things difficult on my eyes when it's trying to concentrate. I have checked my display and reading mode is off, I have no apps that interfere with brightness etc and my phone provider will send it to a repair centre but won't tell me if it will cost anything.

Has anyone had an experience like this and if so was there a solution? Thanks in advance

Hi , Welcome!
You see that on every white page ?
Looks like screen burn in

And the solution is OLED Tools. If that doesn't fix burn-in, either learn to put up with it or have the screen replaced. (And turn the brightness down to the point that it's still usable, not all the way up. When you need it, you can turn it up, but most screens will be bright enough at 40% or less [use Google Assistant to "set screen brightness to 40%"]. I generally run mine at about 20% indoors.)

Unfortunately not just on every white page but every page. I just took a screenshot of a white background just so it was more visible for people to see :/ I'm trying to even work out how (if it is screen burn) it's happened as I always have my display set to go off after a minute of inactivity and I don't ever recall having a video being paused :/ it's very frustrating.

Does anyone know if screen burn is covered under the warranty of the phone?

Thanks for the replies by the way guys, much appreciated

Usually it's not covered, but won't hurt to try and ask , your welcome and good luck !

Yeah and all from NORMAL use of WhatsApp. Now my keyboard burn-in is getting worse too, probably exacerbated by the pleaseant purple-blue keyboard background. Honestly, this should not happen on any premium quality cell phone, be it a Samsung, OnePlus or whatever else is out there. I heard a Samsung Experience Store will change your screen for free under warranty AND additionally change your battery for free as part of the screen replacement. Sadly no Samsung stores anywhere near me.

Oh I have pinkish part of my display allright between the navbar and the Whatsapp toolbar. Meanwhile my 2.5 year old Tab S3 which has been extensively used for things like retro PC emulation and used to be used for lots of gaming (with in-game HUDs) has no burn-in, and I assume it's seem more hours of screen time than my S8 for sure. Something makes me think they deliberately made these discount S8 phones sold on Straight Talk deliberately have shorter lasting OLED to make you buy a new phone sooner :(. And when I mentioned it to a phone shop once, the BLAMED ME because I have my brightness cranked up. What the hell?! I should be able to safely use max brightness on a flagship device, even if it is an old flagship like this thing. Wooof. I love Samsung and will be using Samsung products in the future (they've been the most reliable so far), but IMO they need to switch to MicroLED ASAP.

For the most part , I've owned Galaxy phones from s3 up and Note series except 5,7,8
Never experienced burn in on them but the s8+ red tint
