I know this may be a totally stupid question, but since none of you you know me i am okay making a fool out of myself ( i probably already have anyway) ;P
Question: is it safe to do on line shopping with my EVO? Is there any added risk to using a credit card and / or paypal on my phone as opposed to the computer?
Just curious.
Thanks so much!

That's a good question, here's my thoughts on the matter (to the best of my knowledge).

1. You aren't on a public computer. This is good because of obvious reasons, key stroke loggers and cookies and all.
2. You are using and Android OS which is Linux based, not Windows and that is a security improvement from a virus standpoint.
3. If you are doing your shopping through a 3G or 4G connection (not WiFi), you are significantly less likely to have someone doing a packet sniff or packet injection on your transaction.

I would say that you are pretty safe.

I have shopped on my Evo a few times already with no issues; mostly Amazon and EBay using their Android apps.

At least with Amazon, I do not need to enter any CC info as I already have that defined on my user profile, so no security issues. I would be very cautious about sending CC or other personal info over a public wi-fi though.

I agree and think this is a good question. I don't know the "real" answer but I have used my EVO to shop online a few times. I think of it like my laptop but with a CDMA connection.

I think with any device there is a chance of login or password information being stored and someone (if they knew what they were doing) could retrieve it if the device was lost. But, with this people could do the same with my laptop if I lost it.

Interesting question regarding security. I'd be interested to know the answer on this.
