opening announcements

When we turn on the Lg Spectrum there is the usual tones indicating the phone is opening but also then there is a voice that tells us there is no service, then as the service connects, it tells us we have service and then says Verizon Wireless. How can I turn off those talking opening announcements?

You can root the phone and delete the sound files, they are either under /system/media or /system/sounds I think the directory is called "eri" I'd check on mine, but I have already deleted the directory.
