What should the operating temperature be for my LGV10. IT WAS RESTING I PICKED IT UP AND IT WAS 🔥 HOT. I CHECKED THE TEMPERATURE IT WAS 120 DEGREES. NOTHING RUNNING.

Welcome to Android Central! In the Settings>Battery menu, what's the top battery user?

Also, how's your cell signal? Poor signal is a notorious cause of heat generation (due to the phone working harder to maintain the signal) and battery drain.

What is the temperature of the room?
Where did you get that number - 120 degrees - is that battery temperature

Where I am right now it is 77 degrees and my V10 is resting, battry temp 87 degrees which is normal.
Things like syncing, backup, system update, antivirus scanning etc can cause the phone to heat up when you'r not using it.
Like B. said, a poor LTE /cellular signal can also heat up the phone as it tries to connect.

If you can give us more details we can help determine if it is normal or if the phone is bad. Some phones run hot due to poor heat sink on the CPU for example. THe solution to that is replacemnt.

My V10 sits on my desk at work all day. I am on the very fringe of a signal where I drift in and out of signal all day. If I leave my data on it will drain my battery in around 3 hours and run really hot (115-125+ degrees) as it looks for a signal. I usually come in and turn off data. My phone has been sitting there 3 hours now and the battery is at 80% and the battery temp is 76 degrees in a room that is around the same temp. I also notice that this phone runs very hot while updating apps and running certain, but not all, games. I have had times when it will run really hot and drain the battery for no reason. In that case a reboot usually stops it. To be honest the heat scares the crap out of me with all the boot loop issues this phone is known for but so far so good.
