Optical Zoom?

Hi all,

How does the "optical zoom" actually work on the S9+?

If im on my camera app and cover the second camera lens with my finger, the phone still only uses the top camera lens regardless of the x1 and x2 zoom options.

I thought that there was a seperate lens for both zoom modes, resulting in clearer photos when taking further distance photos (Such as concerts or sports events).

Is the secondary lens at the bottom only purpose for the live focus feature?

The camera will decide which lens to use depending on the lighting for 2x zoom. This is the same as the iPhone plus /x. In bright daylight it should engage the secondary camera. In low light it will use primary

Correct. If not enough light then it simply uses digital zoom from the main camera
