I am looking at a couple 1800 mAh batteries on eBay which are listed as fitting the LG Optimus T sold by T-Mobile. I am wondering if anybody can confirm whether or not they would fit the LG Optimus V sold by Virgin Mobile as well?

Thanks

I think I remember reading somewhere that, No, they won't fit....but have not tried one myself.

I looked up the part number and it appears that the same battery fits several models, but I don't know what the OEM designation is for the T-Mobile LG Optimus T to see if the batteries are the same.

From android forums:

There's a lot of discussion at AndroidCentral about batteries for the S, which is the same as the V. Apparently some batteries are equipped with tabs and square corners which don't fit in the S/V, even though the battery part number is the same (LGIP-400N). It's also being reported there that the Mugen 1800mah extended battery has this same issue and does not fit the S/V

Thanks for finding that. Maybe someone else will create an extended battery that will fit the Optimus V.

Yeah...if you look in the Optimus S Accessories sub-forum here, you'll find people that tried the 1800mah Mugen battery and found it would not fit. I think that's the battery T-Mobile sells for the Optimus T, with the same issues. I may go to a T-Mobile store just to double check. The good news is that there are Hong Kong eBay sellers that have 1500mah batteries and chargers for the V dirt cheap...down now to $8 for one battery and charger and $10 for two batteries and a charger. I have one of those and to me, it's almost a no brainer at that price. See the Optimus S Accessories sub-forum for details.

how are the tabs on there exactly? Would any amount of modification get them to fit? Plastic tabs can be sanded off easily i say...

The tabs aren't the issue...it's the square corners...and I for one don't want to be sanding a lithium ion battery when I can get spares as cheaply as you can for this one.
