So I know I'm in a different forum for the wrong phone blah blah, but unfortunately the Optimus T forum looks super dead and I thought asking my home community would be better.

So recently a friend gave me his out of service Optimus T to root and custom recovery. Now, it still runs Froyo and research shows that it should be rooted using z4root (remember when we used that? ages ago!) and once I rooted it is it ok to install the custom recovery for our phone, the CWR? And next, would it be safe to install CM7 on it?

Basebands aren't an issue since it's off contract and the home/menu button is switched which I think he can deal with, or I can play around with the Optimus V switch key .zips. So is there any chance I can mod it with our stuff without bricking it?

id say no. Optimus T is GSM, Optimus S is CDMA. i know you wont be using the radio, but it could still cause bad juju

Well idk I just flashed a optimus t with the recovery for the T it permanently bricked it then I read eleswhere I should of flashed xionia that we used on our S as far as roms go I would flash a rom for the T T'S are GSM not CDMA like you pointed out you wont be useing the radio but due to the diffrence at boot it would most likely cause the kernel to hang......I'm just guessing....but I wouldn't
So now I have a optimus t anyone want to experiment. First I gotta unbrick it
